SQL Server 2000 SP3a

Third pack of updates for SQL Server 2000.

SQL Server is the renowned database server developed by Microsoft, based on the relational model, that in its first versions was developed using the SQL Server by Sybase as a model. SQL Server 2000 was an inflection point in the development of the database servers by Microsoft, because it is a version that includes significant changes.

  To keep this version of SQL Server updated, Microsoft recommends the installation of SQL Server 2000 SP3. This third Service Pack includes that las updates and fixes important vulnerabilities. Thus, it protects us against the Slammer (W32.slammer) virus.

  SQL Server 2000 SP3a integrates in three independent files, updates for:
- Database componentes (ESN_SQL2KSP3.exe SP3a). These are updates that are applied to the data engine, to the database client utilities and the connectivity components.
- Analysis Services components (ESN_SQL2KASP3.exe). These are updates for the Analysis Services engine, the components of the Analysis Services client, such as Analysis Manager and the OLE DB provider for Analysis Services, and the batabase client connectivity components.
- SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE) (ESN_SQL2kdesksp3.exe). Are updates for the desktop data engine and for the database client connectivity components (OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, the SQL Server ODBC driver, and the client Net-Libraries).

  Requirements: This download requires that you have SQL Server 2000 and Analysis Services installed.
